Payza is among a few select international payment gateway companies allowing you to receive payments in Indian Rupees. Given Paypal's non-stop woes in India, Payza now is the simplest international payment gateway to receive credit card payments online & also in Indian Rupees.
If you're a startup then start with Payza, opening account is free. With no maintenance charges start receiving payment from across Indian customers. As your profits rise, decide then to go for an Indian Payment Gateway to save on TDR costs. The only catch is that you'll need to pay 2.5% + Rs. 12 minimum for any transaction, that may be little costly for products whose price is less than Rs. 500- 600 ( see table below ). But without the support of Paypal, Payza is a real savior for startup merchants who don't want to pay high setup fees of Indian payment gateways.
As soon as you login, in "My Account", in Message Center click the button "Start selling on your website!".
This will take to a new page with this warning:
If you are selling goods and/or services online, you must complete a Website Review to accept credit card payments through your website.
Click "Add Website" & fill the questionnaire.
Since it is charging Rs. 12 fixed for each transaction it means if you sell a product for less than Rs. 250 then the total amount you will pay to Payza will turn out to be a TDR of more than 7%.
If you sell a product of value Rs. 571 then you pay Rs. 26.28 as Payza fees which is 4.6% of the sale amount.
It is like the Paypal account which you can link with your credit card or transfer fund from your bank account in it. Read more on Payza E-wallet blog here. So a user can pay just by logging into her account rather than key-in her card details which is safer way to pay. Hardly ever you'll find an Indian paying using E-wallet. So most of your payments will come from credit cards only.
In India you can transfer funds from your savings account to Payza E-wallet and then you can choose to pay online from it if Payza payment gateway interface is available. Since it is not same as credit card so Payza charges less TDR if your customer pays from her E-wallet.
